The ancestors of the Planelles already took away part, from the Fair of Christmas Products that were celebrated in the Royal Square and in the Ramblas selling "turrones", in 1850.
They had the post under the arcades of the square, in 1868 the Town Council abolished the fair because the Exposure of 1888 and it was not wanted to give an old-fashioned image of the city.
